Today was kind of a bad day for me. I started with the Facebook Poker League free roll tournament. This tournament had over 7,000 players registered to it by the time registration ended. Sadly, the "sucker" strategy did not work at all today. I ended the Facebook Poker League tournament right about the middle. After suffering defeat in that tournament I went into a sit and go tournament that had 360 players in it for a $0.10 buy in. This started out okay but I ended up going out. I competed in three more of these tournaments and non of them went well for me. In the second one I got suckered into going all in with my A 10 off suit. There were several other people at this table that also went all in with me. I thought I had it but did not get the card that I needed and it ended. On the third one, I realized that my "sucker" strategy was not working at all today and that I needed to change my strategy. I am not even going to talk about the fourth one at all.
The fifth one of the day was a tournament with eight-teen players for $1.20 buy in. I started out with poket 9s but sadly the poker gods were not helping me out today. The hand that took me out was pocket Ks against A 10. One would think that with pocket Ks, I won. Nope, wrong, not just wrong but dead wrong. It was a complete disappointment. So moving on with five defeats down, I entered into a tournament for ten cents that had over 7,000 players in it. I ended up finishing in the middle and done for the morning. The thing that took me out on this one was a low end straight when I had three of a kind. I got tunnel vision and did not notice it at all until it was too late. What a stupid move.
So with my account dwindling to nothing, I entered into a couple two cent buy in tournaments with 990 players. The first one started out okay and I ended up finishing 155th. The second one ended as soon as it began. I decided that I would try my luck with some heads up tournaments, two of them had four players for a $2.10 buy in and the other only had one other person for the same buy in as the other one. None of these went well and I think I found an area that I need to work on.th same as before. How good are you with heads up play? What is the strategy that you use when it comes down to you and one other player? Do you change your strategy or keep playing the same way?
I decided to do a couple play money tournaments and did not do so good in either of these. So after the play money tournaments, I went back to a couple tournaments that I usually play in. One of them was a knockout style tournament and I ended up finishing second and for a $2.70 gain. It was a good way to end the day. It is always nice when you finish your poker playing with some kind of gain. I think I am going to go work on my heads up play for a little bit tonight and then call it a day. Tomorrow is Sunday and is the day that I take a break from my daily poker playing update. I have decided to start telling how much I have in my accounts each day so right now my account sits at a little over $3.00. Please feel free to leave any comments, even if it is just to say you are reading it. Thank you and as always may the Poker Gods smile upon your hands. Also, check back for some changes that are coming up.
